I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" the American as the combatants met personally to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Ex two time world heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's largest financial successes, consistently making huge earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As both boxers met for the customary confrontation, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly happening.
